How to Change Text Color for Signs in Minecraft (Color Codes)

It's ten years old, but you can still learn new things like changing the color of text for clues in Minecraft.

Banners can be made from any type of wood, but the default color is black. It's fine if your board is made of oak, but if you're using dark oak it will be hard to read.

The Section symbol

To change the color of the label text, you must specify the color of the label before you can enter it. The color is set by entering the section code and then the color code.

In Windows 10, you can enter this code by holding down the Alt key and clicking 0167 on the numeric keypad.

Now that you know which color code to use, it's time to change the color of the text.
In Minecraft, turn on text editing mode and enter it. Enter the section code, then the color code. Enter the text you want to appear on the banner without adding any extra space. If the text overflows into another line, you will need to enter the color code of the second line.
